You can start with the food eat and carrot is a very good source of eye caring nutrients. Carrots contain beta carotene, which is turned into vitamin A by the liver. However, if your eyes are not deficient in sight, eating carrots will not improve your sight anymore but just maintain them – remember that the vitamin A is absorbed by retinal cells in the eyes so you can see. The retina of the eye will just absorb vitamin a as much as it is required to. Do you know that if you eat very large amounts of the orange-colored fruits and vegetables such as carrots, your skin may turn orange because beta-carotene is a pigment. Nothing to worry about it though since it’s completely harmless.
You can try not to read in the dark, keep all reading material at arm’s length and do not read too much especially with poor lighting. Keeping your body healthy and fit is also one of the best preventions you can get. Some eye conditions are genetic, which mean it can be passed on from your parent or grandparents. The best thing that you can do if you have hereditary eye impairment is preventing from it aggravating. Although carrot is a good source of beta carotene and vitamin A, also remember that too much of anything can be dangerous, therefore, always eat in moderation. Also consider that it’s not just carrot that is a good source for these nutrients. There are other good food sources so make sure to have a balance diet.
